Two questions! |
|
|
Hello,
I just had two questions about Russian violets.
1) Is there any Russian Wasp varieties (I like wasps!)? If so, have these made it over to the US yet?
2) Does Russia have a central AV organization (like an AVSA equivalent) and a database of varieties (like FC2 or the Master Variety Lists)?
Thanks,
Rebecca

Rebecca, yesterday I have posted your question at the most popular russian forums where the violet lovers are found.
The answer is the following:
(i have considered this answer as the most interesting. The author of this answer is the women under the nickname "Krasta" krasta[@]yandex.ru)
1. There is no Russian Wasp varieties.
2. Russia does not have a central AV organization (like an AVSA equivalent) and a database of varieties (like FC2 or the Master Variety Lists). Yet such an organisation could appear in the nearest future.
And there are hybrids of Elena Korshunova (violets with "EK" names):
1. Descriptions of her violets were been made by herself.
2. Elena Korshunova has made many pictures of these hybrids.
So, her violets could be considered like violets of the registered database of varieties. :)
